Our competences cover all current relevant research and development topics in the field of small scale, as well as medium and large-scale biomass combustion and biomass based combined heat and power production (CHP) systems. The overall aim of the work performed is thereby to substantially contribute to:

* the extension of the resource base for new solid biofuels,
* the development of the next generation of biomass combustion technologies, and
* the development of biomass-CHP systems.

These aims concern both the improvement of existing technologies and he development of new technologies, as well as the research and development of the utilisation of new biomass fuels.
