CTR Carinthian Tech Research AG is an industry-oriented competence centre for intelligent sensors and at the same time the biggest non-university research and development centre in the south of Austria. Planned realisation and outcomes of the research are 

• Non-invasive biomedical metrology and diagnostics utilising spectral imaging
• robust miniaturised high-energy lasers for material characterisation and laser ignition in gas turbines
• MOEMS (micro-opto-electro-mechanical systems) –based, miniaturised chemical and biochemical analysers
• fully passive radio frequency SAW sensors for highest temperatures (up to 1000°C)
