The project is concerned with models, methods and information acquisition techniques for supporting local as well as cross-company planning activities. Hence, the central goal of the project is seamless support of supply chain decisions. Continuity is meant in both a technological sense (model, method and data support) as well as in a functional sense (product development, strategic, tactical and operational planning).

The project consortium works on five research topics: A generic simulation and optimization platform (T1), distributed cross-organization simulation of processes (T2), an adequate combination of simulation and optimization (T3), the decision support in the development of physical products (T4) and mechanisms for supplying decision-relevant data and information (T5), respectively.
