CTIB-TCHN (The Belgian Institute for Wood Technology) is the scientific and technological research centre of the Belgian woodworking and furniture industry and was founded in 1947.

Its mission is to give the wood and furniture industry a scientific and technical support.

The main services of the CTIB-TCHN are:

• Collective and private research,
• Technology watch and assistance to the industry (technical, standardization,…)
• Laboratory for mechanical, physical and chemical tests for all uses of wood (most tests are under accreditation),
• Product certification (main certifications are under EU notification).
