The major aim of the Environmental and Energy Technology Innovation Platform (MIP) is to boost the environmental, energy and economic innovation in Flanders. To realise this MIP is clustering all available knowledge and experience from research organizations, universities and high schools into a competence pool. This pool is responsible for the further development and dissemination of this knowledge in a number of specific domains. MIP is bringing together all relevant and important players, including authorities, business, industry, and research organizations, into a single coordinated web. In this web, also called thematic users groups, new environmental and energy research areas, relevant to our economy and society, are being defined. Also new opportunities for technological development are being identified, research projects are worked out and also the development and dissemination of knowledge to market applications is being supported.
