The Flanders Institute for Logistics (VIL) is installed to support and enhance the competitiveness of the logistics sector in Flanders. The VIL aims to be the centre that collects, builds and spreads logistics knowledge. Knowledge creation is gathered within 4 main areas : ‘Asset of Flanders’, ‘Multimodal transportation’, ‘Partnerships’ and ‘Added value and technologies’. The knowledge development is executed in close collaboration with logistics practitioners. It results in clear guidelines, manuals, reports and practical tools supporting the implementation of the concepts. The objective by working this way is a smooth introduction of the concepts within the logistics reality. VIL innovates and encourages innovation.
