In June 2001, companies of Hamburg's aviation industry as well as associations, institutions, and public authorities founded a joint initiative, thus bundling their activities to promote Hamburg as the place for aviation. The initiative thus aims to strengthen Hamburg as an internationally competitive centre of civil aviation, flight technical services, and air transport.
