bavAIRia e.V.

The Bavarian government has set up 19 clusters, each designed to attractgrowth to the various regions in Bavaria. The high-tech clusters Aerospace and Satellite Navigation form the cornerstone of these clusters. Founded in Munich in July 2006, bavAIRia e.V. has managed to secure the widespread participation of the aerospace industry based in Bavaria. To date, members include 53 companies/institutes/universities/individuals. The new association emerged from the consortium entitled Aerospace and Satellite Navigation in Bavaria. Over 80 companies and research establishments cooperated in this voluntary collaborative group which was organized on association principles back in 2001 and formed part of an initiative launched at the time by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. Dr. Martin Haunschild, appointed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs as moderator and cluster spokesperson for Aerospace and Satellite Navigation, was elected chairman of the association. The association seeks the best possible coordination with research and education, public administration, government, companies and trade associations.
