CFK-Valley Stade - CFRP Lightweight Structures

CFK-Valley Stade

The CFK-Valley Stade Competence Network develops emerging construction methods and automated manufacturing processes in the carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) growth market. The interdisciplinary core competencies of our leading experts cover the entire value creation chain, from the training of highly
qualified personnel, to design and serial production, to the disposal of CFRP structures at the end of their operational life. Our focus is on all industries in the mobility and mechanical engineering (e.g. wind turbines) sectors.

CFK-Valley Stade pools the competencies of the world's best protagonists of the CFRP lightweight construction industry in a powerful network. More than 70 national and international companies and research institutions have already combined their complementary know-how in our network of competence. This makes CFK-Valley
Stade a leading name, both nationally and internationally, as far as Centres of Excellence are concerned.

With respect to the market needs for shorter development times, reduced costs and higher rates of production, the members of CFK-Valley Stade have set themselves ambitious goals:

  • developing process chains for automated production
  • falling below the cost-per-piece of lightweight metal components
  • increasing the production rate (> 20,000 units per year)
  • training highly qualified personnel, from skilled workers to engineers
  • shortening development times-settling more selected suppliers and development partners in the region.

These goals are realised in 12 task-specific project and work groups. The resulting knowledge benefits all participants, bringing about technological innovations that create advantages in the competition for customers and market shares.
