The network partners aim to achieve the following primary objectives:

• Jointly enhance market appeal
• Acquire and increase internal MST know-how
• Strengthen the Rhine-Main region in relation to MST

Participants in the Microsystems technology network Rhine-Main have set up the following work groups:

• Microdrives work group
• Microprocessing and microassembly work group 
• Measurement and sensor technology / microoptics work group
• Semiconductor technology work group
• Bio-MEMS (fluidics) work group

These joint objectives are being met through:

• Exchange of information and mutual support
• A joint platform to showcase the companies in the region (joint brochure, website, advertising and trade fair events, etc.)
• Representing MST interests to political and government bodies in the Rhine-Main area
• Contact with other national / international networks and associations
• Support of collaboration and technology transfer between research institutions and industry
• Development of new technologies and exploitation of technical innovations, generation of new projects
