"The University of Miskolc was awarded the status of Cooperation Research Centre (CRC) in Mechatronics and Materials Sciences in June 2001, which was announced by the Office of the Deputy Undersecretary of State for Research and Development of the Ministry of Education.

In the first three years the CRC received 250 million HUF through application and 250 million HUF paid by the consortium members. In 2005-2007 years the support is 360 million HUF and the own source is about 500 million HUF.

The Cooperation Research Centre is a central unit of the University of Miskolc promoting research management and technology transfer. The research projects are assigned to departments or to partner research institutions and will be performed by researchers who are the best qualified for the particular assignment.
