The Pulp and Paper Institute was founded in order to promote research activities and technological development of the trade. Within this institute Technological center for papermaking (TCP) was founded. Four project are now running in frame of TCP:

• Characterization of paper surface for improved printing paper grades
• Modelling and simulation in the pulp and paper industry
• Analytical tools with applications for wood and pulping chemistry
• Improvements in the understanding and use of deinking technology
