The Technology Centre AIMEN is a non-profit private association with 91 industrial members covering various sectors including automotive, metal mechanical, shipbuilding, and wind energy; but also the aeronautical, energy, food, construction, and chemical sectors are represented.

More than 200 highly qualified employees dispose of cutting edge equipment to engage in challenging R&D activities, mostly in collaboration with our members, in joining technologies, superficial treatment of materials, mechanical testing and metallography, and chemical and physical analysis. The research topics in AIMEN are supported by the VII FP and are compatible with calls for proposals in NMP, Transport, Energy, Research for the benefit of SME, RFCS, ERA-NETs, among other international projects.

Our current research activities and cover Laser Welding, Friction Stir Welding, Adhesives, Arc Welding, Brazing, Mechanical Joints, Hybrid processes, Non-Destructive-Testing techniques, Heat Treatment of Materials (including cryogenic treatment), and Typological Analysis.
