CIC microGUNE

CIC microGUNE is a Cooperative Research Centre that was established to carry out research of excellence in the field of Micro/nanotechnologies, with the purpose of contributing to improve the competitiveness of the business environment by conducting top level research, and transferring and disseminating the technology generated.
The Centre, located in the Basque Country, has three research Units: Microsensors Unit, Microfluidics Unit and Micro/nanoengineering Unit. Its research is focused on the fields of microsensors, microfluidics, micro/nanoengineering, microtools for diagnosis and clinical intervention and DNA microdevices for molecular diagnosis (Lab on a Chip). This research takes the form of numerous domestic and international projects covering a range of future applications, though the field of health is a focus of particular interest.
CIC microGUNE seeks the collaboration with institutions with expertise in different microtechnology fields in order to attain a critical research mass that will allow for conducting top level research through the participation in multi centre projects. Currently, members of CIC microGUNE are participating in european projects with consortiums consisting of research Centres and Universities specialized in different areas of micro/nanotechnologies.
