The VINNOVA Excellence Center BiMaC Innovation addresses a number of central, never solved technical problems, which have hampered innovation in the forest products sector together with the development of new bionanocomposites. The product areas addressed: Bio(nano)composites, Structural Wood Components and Paper/Board Products. The ultimate aim is to secure competitive product innovation with high environmental demands in the sector, in a sustainable society scenario. The scientific vision is to make new and unique Forest Products engineered materials. BiMaC is a multidisciplinary research effort, involving generic disciplines such as biotechnology, material chemistry, physics and material engineering.
