The Berzelii Center EXSELENT on Porous Materials aims at combining high level research on micro- and mesoporous materials with developing specific applications. A unique competence within inorganic and organic synthesis is brought together, and preparation methods for new porous materials with controlled pore size and functionality will be developed. Applications, in e.g. catalysis, ion exchange, and controlled adsorption and desorption, will be targeted with a focus on heterogenous catalysis. The center will act as a platform for innovative research and commercialization with a close collaboration with industrial partners. EXSELENT abbreviates EXtremely SELective and ENanTio-selective nanoporous materials for controlled sorption and catalysis.
