The overall objective of the centre is to provide first line assistance to software development organisations in teh area of software engineering processes and process improvement. To help meet evermore demanding standards, software companies are increasingly applying for accreditation under various schemes and creating a greater interest in many aspects of Software Engineering. Software Process Improvement (SPI) is a collection of techniques to measure the state of an organisation’s software development practices and to identify where improvements can be made. The CSPT is promoting SPI to the local software industry through research, knowledge transfer and tailored dissemination programmes.
