The Recording Media Substrate Centre of Excellence has enabled Seagate to develop production and inspection processes capable of manufacturing substrates giving a real densities up to and exceeding 100Gb per square inch.  Performing this research has allowed Seagate to maintain its position as the time to market leader in data storage products.  The presence of an R&D facility at Limavady has helped to embed the manufacturing plant in Northern Ireland.
