Study on the impact of large renewable deployment on electricity higher voltage systems
The Institute for Energy at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre has launched a call for tenders for a study on the impact of large renewable deployment on European electricity higher voltage systems.
The aim of the study is to address the criticalities faced by European Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) grids due to a sustained increase of renewable energy sources, especially wind and solar energy.
The Institute for Energy, located in Petten, the Netherlands, gives scientific and technical support at different stages of European policy-making in the energy sector.
