Congress "Strategies for Innovation and Competitiveness in Europe"

Innovation is a key factor for competitiveness of enterprises, research facilities and regions within the European Union. The European Commission endorses this through several strategies and research programmes, like: the Seventh Framework Programme (FP 7), INTERREG, European Territorial Cooperation Programme (ETC) and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), which helps small and medium-sized enterprises to improve their cross-border operations.

In line with the former, the congress on "Strategies for Innovation and Competitiveness in Europe" addresses the following perspectives on innovation:

• the transfer of knowledge from research to business practice and
• the transfer of innovation within a region and between European regions.
