Polish-Norwegian research collaboration: Funding of seminars and workshops
The Polish-Norwegian Research Fund is issuing a call for proposals with a deadline of 31 October 2008 for funding of seminars and workshops that foster broad Polish-Norwegian research collaboration. Up to EUR 20,000 per project is available.
Seminars and workshops within any of the eight thematic priority areas under the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement are eligible for funding.
The formal grant applicant and project coordinator must be Polish, and all projects are required to include at least one Norwegian research partner. Grant applications are to be submitted in English, the working language of the fund. More detailed information and the application form are available on the fund's website.
The deadline for submitting applications is 31 October 2008. Another call for proposals for funding of research seminars and workshops may be issued in 2009.
More about the fundThe Polish-Norwegian Research Fund was established in 2007 to strengthen research collaboration between the two countries. The main portion of funding (90 %) has been allocated to research projects jointly conducted by Polish and Norwegian researchers and institutions. The remaining 10 % will be used to fund joint research seminars and workshops.
With total budgetary parameters of approximately EUR 15 million, the fund is financed primarily by Norwegian EEA contributions. The fund is administered by a Polish-Norwegian board with its secretariat at the Information Processing Centre (OPI) in Warsaw. The Research Council serves the secretariat in an advisory capacity.
The funding scheme runs until April 2009, but disbursements can be received until April 2011. The proportion of the fund's resources set aside for joint Polish-Norwegian research projects has already been allocated, so no more funding of this type will be awarded.
