The FRAMP

The FRAMPÅ conference is a national innovation conference held every other year. The conference is an interdisciplinary meeting place for innovation and for actors participating in innovation projects, such as the Centre for European Studies (ARENA), the Research Council's Norwegian Centres of Expertise scheme (NCE) and Programme for Regional R&D and Innovation (VRI), Innovation Norway's initiative on regional restructuring and regional research funds.

The conference is targeted towards key figures in politics and the public administration, the research and education community, and trade and industry. A top-quality scientific programme is designed to provide participants with new insights and enable them to explore the dynamics of networks and industrial clusters while promoting network-building and knowledge-sharing at a high level.

The conference is a collaborative effort by Innovation Norway, the Research Council of Norway and the Industrial Development Corporation of Norway (SIVA). This year the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) will also be involved in organising the event.

• Ron Boschma - Professor of Regional Economics at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, Director of the Urban and Regional Research Centre Utrecht (URU). One of Europe's leading experts in the field of regional economics and innovation.
• Dr Irene Tinagli ' postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at the Carlos III University of Madrid and an expert in the field of innovation, creativity and regional development.
• Torger Reve ' Professor of Strategy and Industrial Competitiveness at BI Norwegian School of Management
• Tine Sundtoft ' Chief County Executive of Vest-Agder County
• Kristi Agerup ' Director of the Department for Regional R&D at the Research Council of Norway
• Harald Furre ' CEO of Oxford Research in Norway
• Olav Bardalen ' Programme coordinator for the Norwegian Centres of Expertise scheme (NCE) at Innovation Norway
• Hans Martin Vikdal ' head of Innovation Norway's Development Division

Practical information, programme and registration

The first day of the conference will focus on regional innovation systems and potential changes to these, for example as a result of the establishment of regional research funds or county-municipal ownership of Innovation Norway. The second day of the conference will be devoted to clusters, cluster development and what is needed to promote innovation in clusters.
