UK Research Office Annual Conference 2009

Registration is now open for the 2009 UK Research Office Annual Conference, which will take place in the beautiful City Hall and National Museum, in Cardiff, Wales on 2-3 July.

The two-day event will contain a combination of policy-related plenary sessions and more practical parallel sessions. Planned sessions include an update on the European Research Area (ERA) and the European Economic Recovery Plan; EU International S&T collaboration; and FP6 Ex-Post Evaluation and preparations for the FP7 mid-term review. There will also be sessions focussed more on particular parts of the Framework Programme, such as FP7 finance and reporting, EU Space research including GMES, and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

A drinks reception and the conference dinner are taking place in the National Museum on the evening of 2 July. There will be other networking opportunities over refreshments and lunch throughout the event. Up to two hundred administrators and research managers mainly from the UK, but also other European countries, will be attending. Registration is also open to non-subscribers and UKRO encourages people to register early as places are limited.
