CRCs vary a lot in the way they are set-up, financed and managed. Some are physical centres, others virtual networks. Some are dedicated to applied research, whilst others are dedicated to regional development.

However, most of them face similar questions: what are suitable forms of organisation, what is the best way to interact with industry, how can I enhance the centre’s involvement in international projects and, last but not least, how can sustainability be achieved.

In this toolbox we do not want to provide ready-to-use recipes but instruments that can be used and combined as needed. We offer numerous links and good practice examples that may be used as orientation.

Moreover, this toolbox has been designed as a “learning toolbox”. You can share your experience with us by giving us your feed back and comments. Further links and good practice examples are highly welcome.
