Introduction

IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) have become a “second currency” in the world of Science and Technology.  Accordingly, their importance has dramatically risen - not only for firms but also for universities and research organisations.  Moreover, regions develop regional IPR strategies and build up regional knowledge accounts.  CRCs operate in this very difficult field which is often characterized by conflicting strategies, financial interests and a rising awareness of all actors concerning their Rights and aims.
