Communication activities before launching a new programme
- Stimulate thematic discussions in media to assure the public’s preparedness on the issue as well as interest and platform for further activities (articles and interviews with opinion leaders etc.), use relevant web-sites, direct mailings, leaflets, publish press releases etc.
- Prepare a communication plan for launching a new programme to set up communication activities in different stages. Consider in as far it is useful to contract a PR agency.
- Be clear about your target groups. Communicating a new programme in the scientific community and among possible participants requires a different language and different instrument than the communication towards a broader public. Communication in the political sphere requires further instruments (and language).
- Plan public participation of the relevant target groups (governmental institutions, CRC managers, entrepreneurs, universities etc.) to learn from previous experiences as well as gathering expectations of the parties. Use workshops, (in)formal meetings, brainstorming.
